FAQ
Do I need a referral letter?
No, physiotherapists are first line practitioner which means you don’t need a referral letter from a medical doctor.
What should I bring?
If you have any x-rays, medical reports or referral letters you can bring them along. If you want us to claim the session from you medical aid, you need to bring your medical aid card.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that can expose the area that needs treatment and that is comfortable to move in. A hairband can be useful for ladies with long hair.
How long will it take?
Approximately 45minutes, depending on the condition/s treated.
What can I expect after treatment?
It is normal to feel post-treatment tenderness. The amount of tenderness will depend on what techniques where used. As the post treatment tenderness subsides, you should feel an improvement in your symptoms. Every time you visit your physiotherapist the improvement will increase and the tenderness should become less and less depending on your condition and how long you had it.
Do you except medical aid?
Yes, all treatments are claimed through medical aid. Normal medical aid tariffs are charged. If you don’t have funds available in your medical aid, it is your responsibility to pay the outstanding amount. Private patients need to pay cash on the day of treatment; there is a speed point available at the practice to pay the outstanding amount.
Do you treat injuries on duty (WCA/ COID)?
All injuries on duty are welcome. Please note that the appropriate supporting documentation will be required.
